ROGER BARRETTRoger Barrett, B.Sc.(Arch), B.Arch.(Hons1) Syd, M.Arch Harvard, FRAIA, AIA is an award winning director of extensively published Sydney-based architectural firm Barrett Pinet Architecture. He is a Fellow and has served as an elected Council Member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, and also a full Architect member of the American Institute of Architects. He graduated amongst the top of his class from Sydney University and Harvard University, and has studied and worked with 4 recipients of the Pritzker Prize, architecture’s Nobel Prize. He was the only Australian architect to participate in the design of Los Angeles new J.Paul Getty Centre, one of the late twentieth century’s most significant architectural projects.He has extensive experience with large scale public projects; residential and commercial projects; alteration and addition projects; and the adaptive reuse of existing buildings. He has taught extensively at Sydney’s universities, has lectured widely, and has been a contributor to a number of architectural magazines. In 2008 he was voted Best Architect of Sydney by the Alternative Media Group of Australia. He has lived for study, research and work in 10 major international cities and now resides in Montevideo, Uruguay, with his wife Danielle, but thanks to modern technology, continues to take a keen interest in SFAUDi,
